North West of England pipe band
If you are considering joining us the first thing you need to do is to speak to our pipe major either before or at a practice. We'll have a chat and find out your standard - but don't be concerned, there is a place for everybody from learner up to professional level player. Our band has a structured training program and if necessary you will be recommended to one of our approved tutors to help you get to the basic playing standard required for playing membership.
If you already play an instrument then you will be invited to join our playing practices (you may still require some 'top up' instruction and/or occasional guidance but that will be discussed).
Note that in the main our practices are held on full instruments from the off although, when needed, new sets and any fine practice will be done around the table on chanters and pads prior to going onto instruments.
